Since leaving Immanuel in 2018, Ron has maintained a positive relationship with Immanuel, its members, the city of Lexington and the region as a whole.  Over the last 4 years, he has continued to serve in multiple high capacity leadership roles throughout the country.  As CEO of Leadership Network in Dallas, TX, Ron led this organization that convenes innovative leaders and churches in collaborative conversations to accelerate growth and innovation. He also worked with various churches throughout the southeast in revitalization and leadership transitions, all the while continuing to coach and consult businesses and business leaders around the country.

On returning to Immanuel, Edmondson stated, “The first time we believed God called us to stabilize and position the church to grow again.  The Lord did more than we could ask or imagine during that season. This time, however, the church is healthy and well-positioned. We feel our calling now is to encourage even more kingdom impact in Lexington, central Kentucky and around the world.

Ron feels strongly that the local church should be the catalyst for the betterment of the community. This happens when the church is engaged in community needs, active in building strong partnerships with local organizations, and leading out in serving the region as a whole. During his previous ministry time in Lexington, Ron served on the Salvation Army Advisory Board, completed both Leadership Lexington and Leadership Central Kentucky, served on the Fayette County Schools Superintendent Search Committee and was active in many other community events and activities.

Under Ron’s leadership from 2012-2018, IBC experienced growth in many areas including, but not limited to, the following:
  • Top 100 fastest growing churches in America according to Outreach magazine
  • Opened a second campus at Armstrong Mill, restoring an established church
  • Immanuel’s television ministry grew by 400%
  • Nearly 300% increase in weekly attendance and over 50% increase in Bible study groups
  • Over $700,000 capital improvements paid with cash
  • Paid off over $500,000 in debt
  • Increased social media presence from 600 likes on Facebook to 10,000

Ron is also an accomplished writer having authored several daily devotionals as well as the best selling book The Mythical Leader. You can learn more about Ron on his website at or by listening to his podcast, The Ron Edmondson Leadership Podcast across all major platforms.
