Immanuel covid-19 AND service updates

UPDATED : MARCH 19, 2020

Hey Immanuel family, what a crazy week!

But no doubt, we serve the sovereign King of the universe who is the same yesterday today and forever!

No doubt we see obstacles and God sees opportunities for His fame and glory!

I want to give you another update about our current plans for this weekend as well as share with you what God has done as we lead out in efforts to serve and love our city.

First, we had an amazing Sunday as thousands gathered through our online and television channels at 3 different times.

Conservatively, we estimate that over 50,000 households logged into our online services and viewed us on LEX18. Just amazing. This truly humbled us and made us excited to create more quality gatherings and new content for you on these channels.

Second, I’m proud of the ways Immanuel has stepped up to BE THE CHURCH during these uncertain times. Throughout history, Christians have been known for running towards and not away from tragedy. It is our generation’s turn to do the same.

If you haven’t had an opportunity yet, please take a moment to visit While there you will see ways we as the Church can respond to the needs of this crisis.

Many are having to deal with hardships that just a week ago seemed impossible. We want to share the love of God and be the light of Jesus during this time. We are asking you to look at the list and pick up some of those needed items at the store and donate….These items are essential for our most vulnerable neighbors.  You can drop off these items at the ROC at our Tates Creek campus at Door 10, Monday through Friday from 9am-4pm. Thank you for continuing to advance the Kingdom during these trying times.

I am confident we will get to the other side of this crisis. Micah 7:7 has brought me great encouragement these past two days... “But I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me.”

I know God hears our collective voice calling to Him right now. When things do settle down I anticipate there will be many, many hurting people. I think people will be drawn to the Church in larger numbers than ever. So, in preparation for this, we cannot let up, even in a challenging season!!

To that end, in the short term, we are making adjustments to keep our Church-support strong, readying us for the important ministry work taking place right now and preparing us for the work ahead.

Our weekly worship gatherings will continue without interruption as we move to online gatherings. Hebrews 10:25 reminds us of the importance to gather in person, but the Church is the people  not the building. And so our aim is to leverage technology to protect our communities from the spread of disease while staying fully engaged in community!
We’d love for you, your friends, and your family to join us online at at 9:30am, 11am, or 5:30pm each Sunday.
If you aren’t able to join us on Sundays you can watch the service replayed Monday thru Friday at 9:00am, 12:00 noon, and 8:00pm. And as always, our weekly service is broadcast every Sunday on WLEX at 11:00am.
Our small groups and discipleship will continue but will be modified to accommodate healthy social distancing as recommended by the CDC and our governmental authorities. We will have lessons and studies that will be delivered to you digitally. Your small group leader will be in touch to let you know the adjusted plans for your group.
We will be providing regular content and guidance for parents. We continue to be committed to ministering to families. Our staff is preparing outstanding resources for our kids from preschool through elementary. Our Student Ministry team is also working hard to not only stay connected to our middle, high school, and college students but also provide ways to continue biblically based community.
God’s work through Immanuel continues regardless of the circumstances around us.
We have to stay financially strong. The ongoing ministry of our church is dependent on the tithes and offerings of our people. Our giving has to be modified to accommodate the new reality of not gathering in person for a few weeks.
Electronic giving is the best way to do this. Many of you are already on our giving platform. If you are not giving electronically, this would be a good time to do that.
You can sign up by visiting or watch your mailboxes for a letter containing instructions on setting up your online giving. If you need assistance with setting up your online giving, our staff is ready to help. Call the church office at 859-685-3200. You can also continue to send your gifts by check. You can bring them to the church during normal business hours or mail to 3100 Tates Creek Road, Lexington, KY 40502.
Staying strong in worship, discipleship, family ministry, missions, and finances is important as we work to love and serve hurting people during this tumultuous time.
We are here for you. I wake up every day honored to be your pastor, and especially so these days.
Together, we’re going to get through this!
Blessings Immanuel!
Pastor Ray
