       Immanuel Family,

I think everyone would agree that this has been an unbelievable season on many fronts. We have experienced many challenges, missing out on special occasions with family, economic hardships, personal loss, and deep apprehension about the future. Depression, suicides, loneliness, and other destructive elements are on the rise as typical, but only heightened this past year. With that said, should you need anything, please let us know. If you’re out of work and a member of our church and need financial help, please let us know . If you are lonely or depressed, please let us know so we can reach out! We will get through this!

Through all of this and more, the one thing I know for sure is that God is still in control and is still working. We can celebrate the fact that we continue to see people impacted by the gospel in the midst of all that is going on! Recently, we were reminded from our study of Habakkuk that the “righteous shall live by faith”. Regardless of the chaos that is in the world around us, we stand firm in our faith in Christ and the Word of God.

Our faith is what sustains us. Our faith is our true north for a lost and weary soul. While we continue to have in-person worship and small group gatherings each week, we are taking further steps in providing even more safeguards to our weekend experience that go above and beyond the CDC guidelines. We will continue to work very hard and sanitize our campuses to do our part! We also encourage anyone that is not feeling safe to please worship online or on WLEX-18. We will strive to do both well for the glory of God.

There are many questions surrounding this virus, which makes leadership all the more difficult. Let’s pray for wisdom and strength for all of those making decisions. Also, let’s remember those around us who are in need emotionally, spiritually, physically and mentally. Whether gathering in person or online, let’s seek to serve others, continue to grow in our faith, and continue to hope in James 1:2-4. “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” ‭‭James‬ ‭1:2-4‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Blessings,

Pastor Ray and The IMMANUEL Team
