“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)

Always - /ˈôlˌwāz/  at all times; on all occasions

STOP THE MADNESS!! Jesus is using clear and concise words in these two little verses. Sheesh! Here we go… ALWAYS. How long is He with us? ALWAYS. Well, that doesn’t lend much margin for interpretation, does it?

In my career as a Digital Marketer we use the term CTA almost every day. It’s what we drive everyone to in online marketing. You’ve clicked a CTA button lots of times and maybe didn’t know it! It’s a Call To Action! It’s what a business drives you to in order to market their product or service. And, while Jesus doesn’t have a CLICK HERE or LEARN MORE button in this chapter of Matthew, there is a clear call to action.

As we discussed earlier, the Great Commission isn’t marked by a mission trip or service opportunity, it’s an all day every day call to action. And, just as we are called to be “always on,” Christ reminds us He too is willing to take that step. He is with us ALWAYS.

He wanted to be sure we understood He had our backs while unleashing the gospel message. He wanted His disciples to go ahead and tell everyone about His life and sacrifice. But most importantly, His love. And, for those disciples and the ones with whom they were sharing the good news, the message was clear: we are never alone!

Repeat that last part. We are never alone. Isn’t that a gift? In a world where we can feel we are barely hanging on, we are reminded, He is with us always.

Lord, this world can feel so isolating and lonely. And, yet, we are reminded today You are always near. Let this be our springboard in sharing YOU to everyone we come in contact with. They are looking for comfort and support and we have the answer. Thanks for being with us when we share it. Amen.
